Unit 2.6 ‘Money’ by William H.Davies

About the poet William H.Davies :

William H Davies (1871-1940) was a renowned Welsh poet and writer.  He spent a significant part of his life as a tramp or hobo (homeless person) in the United Kingdom and the United States. After several years of wandering, he published his first volume, ‘The Soul’s Destroyer and Other Poems.’

About the poem ‘ Money’:

The poem ‘Money’ is a very beautiful poem written by the Welsh poet William H. Davies. In the poem is about a rich man who wants to be a poor man to find real happiness. It is when we do not have money, we realize how important money is. In the end, the poet says that now he doesn’t have money, he has true friends though they have few.
